Mentoring & Diversion Program
MENTORING & DIVERSION PROGRAM (RE-DIRECT)
The Mentoring program use coaching and mentoring, presentations, trainings, vocational and financial literacy curriculums to develop positive relationships with youth, adults and their families in underserved communities using best practices and restorative justice techniques associated with diversion, intervention and prevention of violence and substance abuse for at-risk youth, returning citizens, and persons impacted by the trauma and the criminal justice system.
We focus on motivating and inspiring justice involved/at-risk young people and adults who have a higher risk of becoming incarcerated or re-incarcerated to become educated about social justice concerns in our world through written, verbal, and social media communications. We work directly with vulnerable and underserved communities, identifying their material issues and assisting their efforts at self-organization, resistance, and education.
The leader of this program regularly meets with stakeholders from the faith based, business, mental health and criminal justice communities to raise awareness for upcoming initiatives, fundraising support, workshops and to establish approaches to assist individuals with overcoming barriers and encourage prevention of violence by engaging in positive behavioral reinforcement activities.
